Specialty Natural Fibers for Industrial Uses
Natural fibers have superior fiber strength and a light weight allowing for applications in products which call for strength without the unwanted weight.
We offer the following specialty fiber products:
- Sisal Fiber
Obtained from the leaves of the sisal hemp plant, and is second in tensile strength only to abaca. We commonly see this fiber used in baler twine. Through a process of chopping and separating those fibers, Miller Waste Mills manufactures a final product that can be used in filtration, crafts, and as a natural fiber reinforcement
- Wool Fiber
Featuring 100% wool skeins as well as machined wool and wool blends. Wool from Miller Waste Mills was originally used as journal box packing for locomotives and rail cars. Wool is re-emerging as THE choice for many insulation and industrial use applications. It is naturally water repellent, durable, resilient, and flame resistant
- Manila Hemp (Abaca) Fiber
Abaca is a long fibered plant with a high tensile strength. Hemp can be used within plaster castings or composite reinforcement as a natural substitute for synthetic and mineral fibers
- Jute Fiber
Think recycled burlap bags. The many uses of jute include insulation, furniture finishing, buffing, and also in molding, casting, and model making.
- 100% Wood Fiber
Chopped precision shaved aspen excelsior chopped. We have the ability to vary the diameter and length of the wood. This allows the product to be customized and offered for many applications including packaging material, filtration media, and crafts.
Please contact us to discuss your end-use requirements, check supply availability, or quantity pricing needs. Miller Waste Mills can also custom blend a wide variety of fibers to your specification.
